Sia Sellu

Sia Sellu identifies as Multicultural Black Woman. She is the child of Sierra Leonean immigrants, who was an inner Sunset girl and teen punk rock chick.  She was a single mom when Newt Gingrich assured the world that moms like her were responsible for the downfall of our Nation. She grew up going to anti Nuke protests and took her daughter to her protest as a toddler. Sia has volunteered in housing advocacy, quality child care for low income families, neighborhood livability and other issues. Since she has been diagnosed with Stage IV with breast cancer in 2016, she has continued her work as a part of of the Advisory Committee of Solidarity Sundays a feminist activist group, the Black Leadership Commitee of the Anti Police Terror Project and an outreach volunteer for Living Beyond Breast Cancer. Sia is sad about being reduced to a consultant role as a mom by her daughter who recently graduated with her Master's degree from Mills College. Sia still likes to kiss cute boys. She wants to raise awareness on heath disparities for Black women living with this disease.
