Suzanne Rivecca's debut story collection, "Death is Not an Option," (WW Norton, 2010) won the Rome Prize in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the American Academy in Rome. It was also a finalist for national and international awards, including The Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award, The Story Prize, the New York Public Library Young Lions Award, and the PEN/Hemingway Award. Rivecca has received the Stegner Fellowship in fiction from Stanford University, a Creative Arts Fellowship from the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
