Jan Johnson Drantell

I published my first story at age 8, using my father's LC Smith typewriter and carbon paper, about a brother and sister who ran away to Paris and lived across the street from the Eiffel Tower. I was a founding member of Women Poets of the Twin Cities (Mpls/St. Pau) in 1972 and my work appeared in their anthologies: Women Poets of the Twin Cities: An Anthology and A Coloring Book of Poems. I've written about wanting Muriel Rukeyser for my mother, published as a chapter in How Shall We Tell Each Other of the Poet, 1999. My first chapbook, This Might End Well After All, 2017, is my first published chapbook of poetry. I have an MFA in fiction from San Francisco State, and I've worked as a book editor and publisher in various capacities since 1972.
